On behalf of Doctors for Healthy Communities (DHC), volunteers delivered reusable water bottles collected by DHC volunteers & Kentucky Country Day students to Portland Elementary School of JCPS on March 23rd, 2021.

Portland is a fully personalized environment where learners receive experiences that are tailored to their specific emotional, cultural, and academic needs. They believe that every student has the opportunity to thrive, grow, and achieve no matter their starting place. Students are the driving force behind their learning, and they possess interpersonal skills needed for self-directed learning. Students are the drivers of their learning, allowing their interests, current data, and goal-setting to lead the way. Students can show competency in a variety of ways, including self-selected displays of learning, authentic tasks, and traditional methods of assessment.

Kentucky Country Day School’s mission is to challenge its students to achieve their highest level of academic excellence and to grow into honorable men and women of confidence and integrity. They inspire personal growth through a diverse community and participation in arts, athletics, and community service. By doing so, Kentucky Country Day School prepares its students to live successful lives and make meaningful contributions to society. This mission is summed up in their motto: Citizen, Scholar, Steward.
DHC is proud to be part of the initiative to support our school children at Portland Elementary.
