Doctors for Healthy Communities (DHC) volunteers welcomed spring by supporting the families at Camp Taylor Elementary school of JCPS in Louisville, KY. Non-perishable food supplies were delivered for the school’s food pantry on March 26, 2024, just before spring break.
According to the Greater Louisville project, 16.1% of Louisville residents experience food insecurity. This makes us fifth in the nation. Additionally, Louisville ranks second in the rate of children who live in a household experiencing food insecurity. The USDA defines food insecurity as lacking enough food for an active, healthy lifestyle for all members of the household.
Doctors for Healthy Communities (DHC) is proud & humbled to support our schools in Kentucky and southern Indiana.
