Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) staff began vision screening for children in various schools across the district. Debbie Harper, DHC Executive Director is helping staff with this important initiative.

In the first week of September, 843 children had vision screening across two JCPS schools.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends vision assessment starting at birth and continuing as part of routine health supervision checks. These assessments are essential for early detection of conditions that may cause vision loss in young children.
